All the highlights

The walk starts in front of the town hall (Stadhuisplein) at the flight of steps of the town hall. From here you follow the bronze rivets with the portrait of Ambiorix, which you can find on the pavement during the route. Along the way you come across all the highlights in Tongeren, such as the impressive Basilica, the St. Agnes convent, the Moeren Gate (Moerenpoort), the Roman wall and the beguinage protected by Unesco.

Practical information

Distance:  standard 3.5 km with optional expansion of 1 km.

Starting point: the route is circular. You can join everywhere, but it is best to start and finish in front of the town hall at the flight of steps.
